Project 365 #142 - Road to...

On my way to Mt. Rainier in Washington state. I remember the weather being gloomy and so is my memory about the name of this particular spot. Fog was dense and it was difficult to see clearly while driving. We stopped at this spot on the way before reaching the top of the vista point where Mt. Rainier can be seen.

I remember this place being so calm and quiet. We spent some time here just to unwind and relax before starting our 3 hour hiking down the road.

Project 365 #141 - Pike Place market in Seattle

First thing that comes to my mind is that this is the place where it all began for Starbucks, now a multi-billion dollar coffee company. Being at Pike Place Market, which at the time of my first visit looked like an ordinary farmer's market, the subsequent visits did make me think that this place has got the vibe that is different from other farmer's market. Open for almost 20hrs a day for all year round gives plenty of opportunity to get great photographs for every season.

I took this shot in August of 2007. I put the weather condition to its advantage as there were colorful fruits and vegetables on display. This particular shot location was inside and so with low light condition it was not an easy shot to capture the sharpness. Still I believe I managed to keep my hands rock-steady and control my breathe.

Night time fireworks at Disneyland. It was a superb spectacle. Best fireworks I had seen in a long time and the fireworks had lasted well over 1/2 hour long.

Project 365 #136 - Disney Steps

Disney parade at Disneyland in Los Angeles in June 2007. The best part about photographing this parade was colors. It was such a vibrant parade that there was hardly any need to saturate the composition in post-processing. Moreover there was no harsh sunlight directly on the subject so it brought the vibrant colors of these characters even more.

There were, however, some photos where the sunlight was directly hitting the subject and I put it to use in some of my other compositions.

Anuradha Paudwal singing bhajans at Hindu Sangam celebration at De Anza College in Cupertino, California in September 2006. She is one of the most versatile singers. There are many versatile singers in Bollywood but Anuradhaji is one of the best after Lataji. She sang both the movie songs and many bhajans in many different languages. I love the unique quality of her voice.

One of the many shots I took from my backyard as it was a beautiful Saturday morning. I love this capture because of the angle at which I could capture it. Sunlight bouncing off of parts of the leaf and the clarity at which I could capture it was just amazing.
